Rebel Moon will be split into two parts and receive a separate, R-rated cut

According to a new exclusive first look from Vanity Fair, after Zack Snyder handed him a 172-page script, Netflix realized they would have a three-hour movie and decided not to do it.

Snyder was asked to cut it down, but instead offered to make two films. Now his upcoming epic will be told across two films and each will get a “Snyder Cut”, a term popularized by fans following the re-releases of his films Batman v Superman and Justice League.

In fact, Snyder is doing a lot more than just making two Rebel Moon movies. That’s technically making it four. Each Rebel Moon movie will get two cuts, one that can be watched with your entire family and one that is more mature and explicit for adults.

“I think it’ll be fun for my fans and people who are ready for a deeper, harder dive,” Snyder says, referring to the adult cuts of his upcoming Netflix films.
